Birchwood Equities Inc. is a family-owned and operated company with deep roots in Edmonton's housing industry. Founded by Horst and Doris Birkholz, the company's history is built on a commitment to quality, exceptional customer service, and pride in providing homes that residents can enjoy.
The Birkholz family's journey began in 1968 with the founding of Birkholz Homes, a company renowned for building high-quality, handcrafted luxury homes in Edmonton. A few years later, Horst and Doris expanded into the multi-family housing industry, developing several apartment buildings throughout the city. Two of these original properties remain under the family's ownership and management today.
As the businesses grew, the apartment rental division became a separate company, Birchwood Equities Inc., allowing the family to focus on providing quality rental accommodations while continuing their tradition of excellence.
Today, Birchwood Equities is proudly managed by the next generation of the Birkholz family, with son David Birkholz carrying forward the values established by his parents. Under his leadership, the company remains dedicated to maintaining well-cared-for properties and providing residents with safe, secure, comfortable, and affordable places to call home.
More than five decades later, our commitment remains the same: quality homes, attentive management, and treating our residents with care and respect.
ABOUT DAVILU INVESTMENTS
Founded in 2002 by David and LuAnne Birkholz, Davilu Investments began with the purchase of their first apartment building in Edmonton’s desirable Queen Alexandra neighbourhood.
Building on the Birkholz family’s longstanding reputation for quality and exceptional customer service, Davilu Investments is committed to providing well-maintained, comfortable rental accommodations with the personal attention and care that only a smaller, family-owned company can offer.
Our properties are all smoke-free, with select pet-free buildings. Our Queen Alexandra apartment building offers one- and two-bedroom suites in an adult-oriented community, professionally maintained by a friendly, live-in Resident Manager.
We also offer family-friendly condominium rental properties in Edmonton’s Mill Woods and Castle Downs neighbourhoods, providing additional options to suit a variety of lifestyles and housing needs.
